About IP2Check
IP2Check was developed to enable Novagraaf clients to consult trade mark registers quickly and easily either when creating a new trade mark or checking the status of a registered trade mark.
Before IP2Check was available, registers could only be consulted individually. With IP2Check, just one search request will produce results from three trade mark registers.
Combined register searches
In the past, it was possible to consult various official trade mark registers individually but there was no universal portal to enable a trade mark search to be conducted in several registers at the same time. With Novagraaf's IP2Check, you can now search trade mark registers simultaneously.
Which registers does IP2check use?
IP2Check searches in the following trade mark registers:
- The Benelux Trade Mark Register: for all national trade mark registrations valid in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg
- The European Trade Mark Register: for all trade marks registered through the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM)
- The World Intellectual Property Organisation Register: for all trade marks registered in countries which are signatories to this International Agreement and/or the Madrid protocol
There are also many other national and regional registers which cannot be searched using IP2Check at the moment. It is also not always possible to guarantee that the results of these searches are completely up-to-date and error free. We therefore do not recommend that you rely on the IP2Check results alone for decisions to register or not; Novagraaf can perform an availability search which, depending upon your requirements, will include the registers that cannot be searched with IP2Check.
