iPad trade mark owned by Fujitsu.

The name of Apple’s new tablet pc was applied for by Fujitsu in the US in 2003.
 | In a similar story to the problems with the iPhone trade mark and its disputes with Apple Records, it would seem that Apple has again chosen a name already used by another company in the electronics field. However, Fujitsu had appeared to have abandoned its US application in 2009, leaving the name clear for Apple to use, but in June 2009 Fujitsu applied to reinstate its application. There are numerous other IPAD registrations in the EU and US including a Community Trade Mark registration in the name of STMICROELECTRONICS SA for integrated circuits etc in International class 9.
